In Vedic astrology, the Moon calls the shots, not the Sun. So if you want to know what Vedic astrology predicts for 2027, your Moon sign is the place to look. And fair warning: this year moves. Jupiter (Guru) spends the first half of the year in Cancer, where tradition says it is exalted, then moves into Leo on June 25. Saturn (Shani) leaves Pisces for Aries on June 2, then backs up on October 19. Meanwhile Rahu and Ketu, the Moon's nodes, hold the Capricorn-Cancer axis all year long.
All twelve Moon signs are below, in zodiac order, each with its verdict, key season and lucky date. One tip before you scroll to yours: read the next section first, because in Vedic astrology, your Moon sign may not be the one you think it is.

Vedic astrology, or Jyotish, uses the sidereal zodiac: its signs are anchored to the stars, while Western astrology anchors them to the seasons. Over the centuries, a gap has opened between the two, called the ayanamsa. In 2027, using the Lahiri value most Indian astrologers rely on, it is just over 24 degrees.
So what does that mean for you? Start by finding your Moon sign (you'll need your birth time), then check the degree of your Moon. Above roughly 24°, your Vedic Moon sign is the same. Below it, it's the sign before: a Moon at 10° Leo becomes a Moon in Cancer (Karka). That's the case for about four people out of five. Yes, I know, it's a bit of a shock.
Why the Moon and not the Sun? Because Indian astrology reads transits, or gochara, from your natal Moon: your Moon sign counts as house 1, the next sign as house 2, and so on. That count is what gives the verdicts below.

“Saturn tests you, Jupiter cheers you up”
Key season: June 25 to November 25
Lucky date: June 25
Dear Aries Moon, you've been in Sade Sati since March 2025, and on June 2, Saturn enters your sign: the most intense phase, until October 19. Patience and discipline are on the menu (yes, I know, not your favorite dish). Luckily, on June 25, Jupiter moves into your 5th house, the house of creativity, romance and children, so you'll get your smile back all summer. Start a project that feels like you, one small step at a time, and write down every win in a notebook.

“A rich harvest, then a first warning”
Key season: January 1 to June 2
Lucky date: November 26
Dear Taurus Moon, Saturn is camped in your 11th house, the house of gains and friendships: the best seat it can take for you, and the work you've put in since 2025 finally pays off. On June 2, it enters the sign before yours and gives you a taste of Sade Sati until October 19. Think dress rehearsal, not opening night. Luckily, on November 26, Jupiter joins your 5th house and lights your heart back up. Save money in the spring: June-you will thank you.

“The year your bank account smiles”
Key season: January 24 to October 19
Lucky date: June 2
Dear Gemini Moon, from January 24 to June 25, Jupiter travels through your 2nd house, the house of money, family and speech: your words are worth gold, literally. Then, from June 2 to October 19, Saturn moves into your 11th house and rewards your efforts. Okay, the rest of the year it weighs on your 10th house, so expect your boss to ask for results. Negotiate, ask, sign before summer, and give your piggy bank a funny name (no text says so, but it can't hurt).

“Jupiter exalted in your sign, no less”
Key season: June 25 to November 25
Lucky date: June 25
Dear Cancer Moon, on January 24, Jupiter settles into your sign, where tradition says it is exalted, at the top of its game. Transit texts stay cautious about Jupiter in the 1st house (you scatter, you spend), but on June 25 it moves into your 2nd house: money and family take center stage until November 25. Ketu, meanwhile, crosses your sign all year and makes you a little detached. Sort out your spending in the spring, then reap the rewards when summer comes.

“A year of endurance, with a great finish”
Key season: late November and December
Lucky date: November 26
Dear Leo Moon, Saturn is crossing your 8th house, what Indian astrologers call Ashtama Shani: this year asks for stamina and caution. It steps away from June 2 to October 19, just long enough to catch your breath. Luckily, Rahu spends the whole year in your 6th house, the house of obstacles overcome: you win the arm-wrestling matches. And on November 26, Jupiter joins your 2nd house. Save some strength for the end of the year, like a marathoner who knows the best part is the last mile.

“A golden first half of the year”
Key season: January 24 to June 25
Lucky date: January 24
Dear Virgo Moon, get your best spreadsheet ready: from January 24 to June 25, Jupiter travels through your 11th house, the house of gains, friends and wishes come true. Ketu spends the whole year there too, another good sign by common practice. Summer gets trickier: Saturn, already opposite you in your 7th house (partners, relationships), moves from June 2 to October 19 into your 8th house, the house of deep questioning. Luckily, Jupiter enters your sign on November 26. Make your plans happen before summer, and book a vacation where you truly unplug.

“One of the best years in the Vedic zodiac”
Key season: June 25 to November 25
Lucky date: June 25
Dear Libra Moon, Saturn is spoiling you: it sits in your 6th house, where it crushes obstacles, until June 2, then again from October 19. In between, it moves opposite you, into your 7th house, and puts your partnerships to the test. And on June 25, Jupiter settles into your 11th house, the house of gains and networks, until November 25. Even you, who can't pick between two coffees, will know what to choose: say yes to summer's opportunities.

“Luck in the spring, victories in the summer”
Key season: January 24 to October 19
Lucky date: January 24
Dear Scorpio Moon, from January 24 to June 25, Jupiter travels through your 9th house, the house of luck, travel and teachers: a mentor, a course or a plane ticket could change everything. Then Saturn, which weighs on your 5th house (romance, children, creativity), moves into your 6th house from June 2 to October 19: you finally beat whatever was holding out on you. Rahu, in your 3rd house, gives you nerve all year (as if you were short on it!). Go learn something new this spring.

“A heavy start, a liberating summer”
Key season: June 25 to November 25
Lucky date: June 25
Dear Sagittarius Moon, Saturn is crossing your 4th house, the house of home and inner peace: family, housing or renovations keep you busy. And Jupiter, in your 8th house from late January to June, asks you to slow down (I know, you hate being told that). Luckily, on June 25, Jupiter moves into your 9th house, the house of luck and long journeys, your favorite playground, until November 25. Book your summer adventure in the spring, and keep your suitcase half packed.

“The spring of alliances”
Key season: January 24 to June 25
Lucky date: January 24
Dear Capricorn Moon, Rahu crosses your sign all year: ambition goes through the roof, along with a few sleepless nights overthinking. Luckily, from January 24 to June 25, Jupiter lights up your 7th house, the house of relationships, contracts and partners: it's time to say yes, to someone or to a joint project. Saturn, your ruler, backs you from your 3rd house (courage, initiative), except from June 2 to October 19, when it moves into your 4th house and piles on the load. Sign in the spring: your calendar will thank you.

“The end of the Sade Sati tunnel is in sight”
Key season: June 2 to October 19
Lucky date: June 2
Dear Aquarius Moon, you've been in Sade Sati since January 2020. On June 2, Saturn leaves Pisces and moves into your 3rd house, one of its best spots: you can finally breathe. It will come back for one last round from October 19 to February 23, 2028, like a guest who forgot their scarf. Luckily, on June 25, Jupiter joins your 7th house (relationships, partnerships) until November 25. Use the summer to launch what you've been putting off for years.

“Sade Sati, but in good company”
Key season: January 24 to June 25
Lucky date: January 24
Dear Pisces Moon, Saturn has been crossing your sign since March 2025: this is the heart of Sade Sati. It loosens its grip a little from June 2 to October 19 by moving into your 2nd house (watch your budget). Luckily, you have two allies: Jupiter in your 5th house from January 24 to June 25, for love, children and creativity, and Rahu in your 11th house all year, for gains and networks. Bet on your artistic talents: your imagination is your best investment.

Tradition, from the Phaladeepika to B. V. Raman's handbooks, says where each planet does good as it passes, counting from your Moon. Jupiter brings luck in houses 2, 5, 7, 9 and 11; Saturn is generous in 3, 6 and 11. For Rahu and Ketu, the texts vary, and common practice also favors houses 3, 6 and 11.
And then there's the famous Sade Sati: the seven and a half years when Saturn crosses the sign before your Moon, your Moon sign itself, then the sign after. In 2027, it concerns Pisces and Aries; Taurus gets a first preview from June to October, and Aquarius, deep in it since January 2020, finally sees the end. Don't panic: tradition sees it as a time of maturity more than a punishment. Saturn is a demanding teacher, not a tormentor.
Keep one thing in mind: these Moon sign readings give the general trend of the year. A Vedic astrologer refines it with your full chart, your ascendant (lagna) and your planetary periods (dasha).

Whether your Moon sign is in for a party or deep in Sade Sati, remember this: in Vedic astrology as everywhere else, the 2027 transits describe a climate, not a destiny. Jupiter opens doors, Saturn asks for effort, but you're the one who decides to walk through the first and put in the second.
Now for the ultimate test: send this page to your friends and ask them for their Vedic Moon sign. I bet more than one will find out they're not the sign they thought. Let me know who made the funniest face.
