Where does citrine come from?
The story of citrine owes much to legend. It is said that in a region between Brazil and Bolivia, a sorcerer had locked the mantle of dawn inside a crystal. Annoyed, the Sun hid it in the bowels of the Earth, giving the mineral its bright yellow color.
For South American shamans, citrine is a fire stone, used in rituals to burn away human limits from within and bring new vitality. For the Greeks and Romans, it was a protective symbol often worn as a pendant.
