A message from the cards awaits you
Let your intuition carry you. Then turn your cards.
The intermediate cards are the category that answers the question "who?". Kings, Queens, Knights and Aces of the deck's four families — Sickle, Scimitar, Heart and Shield — they point to people around you, or to profiles you are about to cross paths with.
There are 16 of them, four per family.

This is one of the singularities of the Persian tarot: where most tarots only separate major from minor arcana, this one adds a third category. The intermediate cards describe neither a theme nor an event, but human beings.
Each family covers one area of life: the Sickle the work you put in, the Scimitar conflict, the Heart your feelings, the Shield material security. The person the card announces therefore always arrives through that area.
📍 Where do the four families come from?
The four suits of the Persian tarot map onto the four suits of an ordinary card deck: the Sickle to diamonds, the Scimitar to spades, the Heart to hearts and the Shield to clubs. The names themselves come from the deck's oriental world — a harvesting tool, a curved sabre, a heart and a buckler.
One warning about the Shield: despite the name, this is the family of money and assets, not of protection.

A reading full of intermediate cards tells you the situation is playing out with someone: the key is not in the circumstances, but in a relationship.
The tone of the person depends entirely on the family: a Knight of Hearts announces good news in love, a Knight of Scimitars announces conflict. Same rank, opposite reading.
✦ ✦
The intermediate cards stand for people, the minor arcana for concrete situations. That is the Persian tarot's particularity: it separates the two, instead of mixing them into a single series of minor cards.
In the split used here — the one that gives 19 + 16 + 16 + 4 = 55 cards — the four Aces sit with the Kings, Queens and Knights. Some sources attach them to the numbered cards instead; the deck's total stays the same, only the Ace's filing changes.
Yes. The Queen of Shields traditionally stands for the querent. More broadly, a figure can embody a facet of you rather than an outside person — its position in the spread helps you decide.
