Leo's spirit animal is the Salmon, here's the meaning
The animal symbol of the Salmon is the fifth spirit totem in the wheel of life of Amerindian shamans. It corresponds to midsummer and to our Western astrological sign of Leo, to which it can bring a new and exotic perspective. The salmon, like the Leo personality, who is coincidently its double in western astrology, loves comfort, luxury and possesses a kind of imperial charisma. For the tribes of northwestern North America, the salmon represented the non-incarnate souls. They therefore attributed to them an ability to juggle between the spiritual world and the earthly world. However, the salmon also sparked the admiration of the Amerindian people by travelling perilous paths in order to lay their eggs, demonstrating fierce determination and courage.
Salmon is courageous, admirable and willing to sacrifice his life for those of his children. But in the end, his motivation may well stem from the fear of dying without having perpetuated his heritage, without having left a trace. The result is a beautiful paradox: to go to the very end of one's strength, to the very end of oneself, "until death", in order to feel... alive! And then, what is this strange idea, this strange obstinacy to return against all odds to the place of one's own childhood? Is this not a case of excessive, morbid attachment to one's ancestors, with the danger of fixity and stubbornness? Salmon is also a powerful symbol of sovereign creativity and gestural abundance.
This fish is a symbol of fertility and sacrifice. Its qualities? Be radiant and able to adapt confidently to tricky situations. Proud, energetic and generous, your ability to undertake and achieve several things at once gives you great opportunities for novelty, which you seize with enthusiasm. You're also insatiable, stubborn and demanding. By becoming more flexible, you'll undoubtedly be able to go up and down the river without losing all your strength.
