What are her most notable predictions?
Dixon’s most famous prediction is undoubtedly the assassination of President John F. Kennedy in 1963, which she is said to have predicted in 1956. Throughout her career, she made many other accurate predictions. While not all of them came true, Dixon captivated America with her bold visions of the future.
Jeane Dixon is particularly known for her numerous predictions about important figures and events, often in the political arena:
The assassination of John F. Kennedy
This is Jeane Dixon’s most famous prediction: the assassination of President John F. Kennedy in 1963. In 1956, she predicted in Parade magazine that a "young and energetic" Democrat would be elected president in 1960, and that he would later die in office.
The election and resignation of Richard Nixon
Jeane Dixon predicted that Richard Nixon would be elected president of the United States in 1968. She also controversially predicted that he would not finish his term. Nixon resigned in 1974 following the Watergate scandal.
The Vietnam War
Dixon is said to have predicted the end of the Vietnam War in 1974, which indeed happened.
The 2001 World Trade Center Attack
In her 1971 memoir, titled A Gift of Prophecy: The Phenomenal Jeane Dixon, she predicted that a terrorist act against a New York skyscraper would occur in the near future. While no specific date was mentioned, some believe this could refer to the September 11, 2001 attacks.
The death of Marilyn Monroe
Dixon also predicted the sudden death of Marilyn Monroe in 1962, although it’s worth noting that Monroe was facing many mental and physical health issues at the time.
However, while these predictions were widely reported, Jeane Dixon also made many predictions that did not come true. For example, she predicted that World War III would begin in 1958, which did not happen. These failures led to criticism of her methods and raised doubts about the accuracy of her predictions.
