Who is the angel Vehuel?

Vehuel is the angel of elevation. Not the kind that stands on other people, but the kind that takes them along. Those he protects tend to share one rare quality: the higher they climb, the more room they make. You recognise them by their open-mindedness, their pull towards the arts, and a kindness that is never up for negotiation.

Where the name Vehuel comes from

Vehuel is the forty-ninth sacred name of the Shem HaMephorash — the 72 divine names the kabbalists drew from the three verses of Exodus (XIV, 19-21). His Hebrew name וְהוּאֵל, built on the trigram Vav-Heh-Vav (ו-ה-ו) plus the divine suffix -el, translates literally as « Great and High God ». Tradition also gives him the key « Consolidation of God »: what he raises, he also makes firm. The traditional calling formula drawn from the Psalms is: « Great is the LORD, and greatly to be praised; and his greatness is unsearchable. » (Psalm 145:3).

His place in the angelic hierarchy

Vehuel opens the choir of the Principalities — the seventh angelic order, the one watching over large wholes, peoples and vocations, placed under the authority of the Sephira Netzach, victory and perseverance. The Principalities do not fuss over the detail of our days: they hold the course. His ruling archangel is Haniel, whose name means « the grace of God » and who governs beauty, love and everything that ties the human to the divine. Seven companions follow Vehuel, among them the angel Daniel, keeper of eloquence and forgiveness.

His spiritual mission

Vehuel's mission is to change your altitude. He works on evolution and life mission: he will not solve your problems for you, he makes you see from higher up what looked like a dead end from below.

He is also the angel of long patience. When you feel you are moving too slowly, spending your energy on goals that keep receding, he comes to remind you that nothing is wasted. He guards against hatred, self-centredness and intolerance, and grows altruism, tolerance and a sense of moral values in their place. His favoured fields: literature, law and diplomacy — wherever a high word has to be kept.

The right moment

Vehuel listens most closely on his annual regency days: 8 May, 20 July, 1 October, 13 December and 24 February. Within the day, he is most receptive between 4:00pm and 4:20pm. Nothing stops you from calling him outside those windows: they simply make the crossing easier, like a door left ajar.

How to prepare

Choose a place where no one will interrupt you, and let the day settle before you speak. If you can, light Sandalwood and Electra incense. You may hold an Emerald in your hand to strengthen the link. What matters most is sincerity.
