The origin of the name Sehaliah

Sehaliah is the forty-fifth sacred name of the Shem HaMephorash — the 72 divine names drawn by the Kabbalists from the three verses of Exodus (XIV, 19-21). His Hebrew name סאליה literally translates as "God, mover of all things": the one who starts things moving again. The traditional invocation formula from the Psalms is: "When I said, my foot slippeth; thy mercy, O Lord, held me up." (Psalm 94, v.18).

His place in the angelic hierarchy

Sehaliah belongs to the choir of the Virtues — the sixth choir of the celestial hierarchy, placed under the authority of the Sephirah Tiphereth, that of beauty and balance. The Virtues are the angels of moral strength: they don't fight in your place, they make you able to stand. His ruling archangel is Raphael, the healer, the one who mends what life has damaged — body and soul alike.

His spiritual mission

His mission comes down to two gestures that are really one: giving you back your will, and teaching you to let go. Because you cannot move forward with your arms full of what you refuse to put down.

Sehaliah works first on the emotions: anger that overflows, fear that paralyses, grief that settles in. He doesn't erase them — he puts you back at the centre, where you are the one deciding what to do with them. Only then comes speech: saying what you think, even against the current, without aggression and without betraying yourself. He is also credited with an influence on health and recovery, in keeping with his archangel Raphael: finding your momentum again when illness or exhaustion has cut it short.

Sehaliah listens most closely on his annual regency days: 3 May, 15 July, 26 September, 8 December and 19 February. During the day, he is most receptive between 2:40 and 3:00 pm. That is also why the reversed mirror hour 14:41 is associated with him: if it keeps following you around, it may not be a coincidence.

How to prepare

Choose a moment when no one will disturb you, mute your notifications, sit down and take three deep breaths before saying anything at all. If you can, light some frankincense. You may hold a fire agate in your hand to amplify the connection. Sincerity is what matters most.
