An Angel Has Walked With You Since Birth

Forge a stronger bond: Meet your angel

Poyel's message

“You may ask. Really ask: a roof, a trade, health, a child. I am not the angel who teaches you to make do with little. I am the one who holds up what you build, on one condition: that you remember who is holding you.”

“The day you succeed, you will meet the temptation to believe you did it alone. That is when I will be closest. What you carry, others passed on to you; what you gain, share it. Fortune that does not circulate becomes a stone around the neck.”

Who is the angel Poyel?

Poyel is an angel of masculine polarity. Tradition describes him as a generous giver, lively and readily talkative — an angel who acts rather than contemplates. He does not ask you to renounce the world: he asks you to cross it without mistaking yourself for its centre. He is one of the few angels you may address with a plainly material request.

The origin of the name Poyel

Poyel is the 56th sacred name of the Shem HaMephorash — the 72 divine names drawn by kabbalists from the three verses of Exodus (XIV, 19-21). His Hebrew name פּוֹיאֵל is built on the trigram פוי (Pe-Vav-Yod), the fifty-sixth column of the grid, extended by the divine suffix -el, meaning “God”. It is translated as “God who supports the universe”. Tradition also gives him the title of angel of Providence. The traditional invocation formula, drawn from the Psalms, is: “The LORD upholdeth all that fall, and raiseth up all those that be bowed down.” (Psalm 145, v. 14).

His place in the angelic hierarchy

Poyel belongs to the choir of the Principalities — the seventh of the nine choirs, placed under the authority of the Sephira Netzach, “victory”, the momentum that keeps going. The Principalities watch less over the isolated individual than over what binds people together: families, trades, nations, everything that stands because someone is holding it up. Poyel is their eighth and final name, the one that closes the choir. His ruling archangel is Haniel, whose name means “the Grace of God”. He shares this choir with seven other names, including his calendar neighbour Mebahiah (December 22nd-26th), and he comes just before Nemamiah, who opens the next choir.

His spiritual mission

Poyel's mission comes down to one verb: to support. He lifts up those who fall — literally as well as figuratively. Where other angels bring light or calm, he slips a hand under your elbow at the exact moment your knees give way.

His second field is speech. Tradition credits him with a precise and slightly unexpected power: he loosens stammers, blocked speech, the shyness that stops you saying what you think. He does not make you talkative, he makes you audible. Finally, he is called on for fortune and reputation, but always harnessed to modesty: tradition says he grants what is needed, never what is demanded out of vanity.

If Poyel is your protective angel, know that he watches over you wherever you are. He may well decide to send you a message, if he feels you need to hear it, through a mirror hour. Stay alert 😉.

The qualities Poyel awakens

People born under his influence share four traits that tradition attributes to him directly.

🌱
Patient success

You obtain through work and time what others hope to get from a stroke of luck. Your projects take a while, but they hold.

🙏
Humility

You succeed without needing anyone to know. That is what earns you the esteem of those close to you, far more reliably than any title.

🗣️
Speech that carries

Once the hesitation passes, you find the right word. Poyel works on the eloquence of the shy, not that of orators.

☀️
Good humour

A sturdy optimism, with a sense of humour. You get through hard times without making them weigh on the people around you.

✦ ✦ ✦

Why call on the guardian angel Poyel?

People call on Poyel when they need to hold on: a project that requires real means, a stretch where money runs short, a moment when you no longer dare to speak up, or simply those days when sadness settles in for no clear reason.

His help does not look like a spectacular miracle. It is more like a door opening at the right moment, someone offering help before you asked, an opportunity arriving just before it is too late. Many describe less a sudden windfall than a solid floor underfoot.

You can call on Poyel if:

  • A project needs means: housing, work, health, adopting an animal: tradition explicitly allows him to answer concrete requests.
  • Words fail you: stammering, stage fright, shyness: he loosens the throat and makes speech possible, without turning you into a public speaker.
  • Sadness settles in: he gives back the taste for the day after, and that good humour which does not depend on circumstances.
  • Success goes to your head: or crushes you: he restores the right measure, between a sense of inferiority and vanity.

How to call on Poyel

The ideal moment

Poyel listens most closely on his annual regency days: March 3rd, May 15th, July 27th, October 8th and December 20th. During the day, his window is 6:20 pm-6:40 pm — that hour when you take stock of the day. Nothing stops you calling on him outside it: those born between December 27th and 31st may pray to him every day.

How to prepare

Find twenty minutes of silence, screen-free, ideally seated. Say your request out loud and plainly — Poyel is not embarrassed by concrete things. If you can, burn Sandalwood and Myrrh incense. You may hold an opal in your hand, the closest to his magenta glints, to amplify the bond. Sincerity is what matters.

Prayer for the angel Poyel 🕯️

To summon Poyel, say this prayer with Sandalwood and Myrrh incense:

“Poyel, Lord!

“I want my lips to utter only what is worthy, noble and uplifting.

“I want my word to make those who listen to me discover the depth of your message, the shining of your light. Angel Poyel, bring my word to life!

“Allow me to open up future prospects for myself, for my loved ones, for everyone…

“Grant that I may succeed in everything, for I want all those who turn to me to find support and moral, as well as material, comfort.

“Lord, through me, let your gifts, virtues and powers actively express themselves.

“Make me one of the builders of new Jerusalem, that eternal town you have already built in heaven.

“Amen!”

The associated verse — Psalm 145, v. 14

Reciting this verse is an invocation in itself. It carries the Hebrew letters of Poyel's name according to kabbalistic tradition.

“The LORD upholdeth all that fall, and raiseth up all those that be bowed down.”
