Mumiah is the seventy-second sacred name of the Shem HaMephorash — the 72 divine names drawn by the kabbalists from the three verses of Exodus (XIV, 19-21). His Hebrew name מוּמִיָה translates literally as “God, end of all things”. Tradition also gives him the key “the fulfilment of all things”, which says more about his role: he destroys nothing, he brings to completion. The traditional call taken from the Psalms is: “Return unto thy rest, O my soul; for the LORD hath dealt bountifully with thee.” (Psalm 116, v. 7).

His place in the angelic hierarchy

Mumiah belongs to the choir of the Angels — the ninth and last, the closest to human beings, placed under the authority of the Sephira Yesod. This choir accompanies us through the concrete stages of life, quietly, at the scale of everyday things. He is placed under the guidance of the archangel Gabriel, the messenger, the one who announces beginnings. Mumiah shares that watch with seven other angels, among them the angel Rahel.

Mumiah's mission comes down to a single gesture: closing things properly. He helps you finish what has been dragging on, settle what weighs on you, say goodbye without bitterness — and above all, not mistake a grief for a dead end.

That slot, the last of the twenty-four hours, looks just like him: the moment when one day fades to make room for the next.

Choose a quiet place, switch off the screens, and take a minute to name inwardly what you are leaving behind. If you can, burn some myrrh incense. You may hold a rock crystal in your hand to amplify the connection. Sincerity is what matters.
