The origin of the name Lauviah

Lauviah is the seventeenth sacred name of the Shem HaMephorash — the 72 divine names the kabbalists drew from the three verses of Exodus (XIV, 19-21). Her Hebrew name לֵאוּ יַהּ translates literally as "admirable God", the one whose greatness can be read throughout Creation. Do not confuse her with Lauviah the eleventh, today called Lauvuel: they share the same vibratory root but watch over different periods. The traditional call drawn from the Psalms is: "O Lord, our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth!" (Psalm 8, v. 2).

Her place in the angelic hierarchy

Lauviah belongs to the choir of the Thrones — the transmitters of the light that makes hardship understandable, placed under the authority of the Sephirah Binah, that of deep understanding. She is the first of the eight. Her ruling archangel is Tsaphkiel (also called Binaël), guardian of contemplation and inner silence.

Her mission is to open consciousness to what lies beyond the visible, and to make the nights meaningful.

Lauviah accompanies those who are seeking their path. She soothes night terrors, cleanses the mind of its shadow zones and breathes faith into life when everything seems dark. Lauviah listens especially closely on her annual days of regency: April 5, June 17, August 29, November 10 and January 22. During the day, she is most receptive between 5:20 and 5:40 AM. It is at dawn, in the silence that precedes the world's awakening, that she draws nearest.

How to prepare

Choose a quiet place where no one will disturb you. Settle in, breathe slowly and let the flow of your thoughts settle. If you can, light some Styrax and Electrum incense. You may hold a Chrysoprase stone in your hand to amplify the connection. What matters most is sincerity.
