Hekamiah is the guardian angel of loyalty, faithfulness and true friendship. He is traditionally described as protector of those who guide, unite and bring peace. Under his influence, one keeps one's word, honours commitments and sees responsibility as an opportunity to act justly.
Hekamiah is the sixteenth sacred name of the Shem HaMephorash — the 72 divine names drawn by the kabbalists from the three verses of Exodus (XIV, 19-21). His Hebrew name הקמיה literally translates as "God who builds the Universe". He is nicknamed the "Support of God", for he strengthens whatever is meant to last: vows, alliances, friendships. The traditional invocation formula from the Psalms is: "God of my salvation, I cry by day, I moan by night before you" (Psalm 88, v.2).
Hekamiah belongs to the choir of the Cherubim — the guardians of light and of the stars, placed under the authority of the Sephirah Chochmah, Wisdom. This choir watches over memory, transmission and faithfulness to just principles. His ruling archangel is Raziel, keeper of divine secrets and hidden knowledge.
Hekamiah's mission is to weave a network of sincere bonds around you and to make you worthy of trust. He wards off treachery, soothes conflict and helps you take your rightful place — that of an upright soul, able to bring people together without crushing them.
