1. Stop using the word ‘flaws’
The first step to embracing your flaws, is to stop seeing them as that! The very word ‘flaws’ immediately suggests something negative- which they’re really not!
2. Make a list of your positive points
Ok, so it may sound embarrassing, but reminding yourself of all your amazing traits will soon help you feel good about yourself!
3. Surround yourself with positive people
Positivity is infectious after all! If all the people around you love themselves, you’ll soon follow suit!
4. Avoid people who put you down
In the same way, if your friends are all constantly putting themselves or even you down, this won’t do anything to help your self-confidence!
5. Accept compliments
Being complimented can make some people feel awkward, but you should accept it and say thank you! Rejecting or denying a compliment certainly doesn't help your self-confidence.
6. Don’t try to change yourself
Unless it’s a trait that’s negatively affecting those around you (like being unkind, unfaithful etc.), then don’t waste time trying to change it. The sooner you accept that you can’t change your imperfections, the sooner you’ll be able to embrace them!
7. Be wary of the media
Every time we scroll through Instagram or flick through a magazine, we’re greeted with images of simply unattainable and unrealistic bodies. The moment you stop comparing yourself to these Photoshopped models, you’ll be way more body positive!
8. Realize that everyone has insecurities
Yep that’s right, even Kylie Jenner and Gigi Hadid have imperfections! Once you realize this, we guarantee that you’ll feel a whole lot better about yourself!
9. Take a step back
It’s likely that the thing that’s making your insecure, nobody else has even noticed! Try to see yourself from an objective perspective and you’ll realize that whatever it is, really isn’t worth worrying about!
10. Stop comparing!
The main source of your insecurities is probably due to comparing yourself to others! Remember that everyone is made differently for a reason, and without individuality the world would be a boring place!
